  Balkans 3. Montenegro bound Having read the title of this blog, the more astute of you will have deduced that our original van registration documents did arrive. They were picked up from Poole on Wednesday morning and delivered to our campsite in Dubrovnik early in the afternoon of Friday. For the less astute, the papers come. a German cruise ship outbound from Dubrovnik photographed from our pitch on the campsite  Dubrovnik was a great place to spend three days more than we meant to and we gained the opportunity to do things we hadn’t expected to while we were here. We took the cable car ride to the top of the cliffs overlooking Dubrovnik which provided us with great panoramic views along the Adriatic coast and a birds eye look at the old town.   Balkans 2. To the southern tip of Croatia In which your intrepid correspondents explore two fascinating medieval walled towns and enjoy an adventure. Dubrovnik old town from the upper cable car station From our (still empty) campsite on the Peljesac peninsula we could see a town across the 2 km channel of sea separating us from the island of Korcula. It was Korcula Town containing the walled Korcula old town, the first of the medieval walled towns we were visiting in Croatia. We cycled to Orebic which was about four miles away because that’s where both a passenger ferry and a car ferry went to the island. This was Easter Saturday but the passenger ferry does not run on weekends. To be fair this is what it said on the website but we took a chance that Easter Saturday would be different and would have a ferry running anyway. We were wrong.   Balkans 1. Across Europe in a Motorhome to the Balkans for seven weeks I agree this is not a snappy title but it does explain what we’re up to in only ten words. the inevitable queue.  this one is at Newhaven We hope to be visiting Montenegro, Albania, North Macedonia and Serbia, driving south along the Adriatic through Croatia which we explored in 2008.  As I write this first section we’re on a campsite on the island of Krk in Croatia having arrived at 15.45 on Wednesday after driving from Dieppe.   We’d rolled off the ferry at lunchtime on Sunday.   Fortunately we were able to catch the 07.00 ferry from Newhaven because our good friends Jan and Clive provided hospitality for the night with parking on their drive.  They did not wave us goodbye at just after 4.30 in the morning.
